And today, in this section Coderque Designs, we introduce this earrings that combine several gemstones. One of the stones is a garnet, January’s birthstone. Can you identify it in the photo? 
Una clienta contacto con Marta hace tiempo ya que disponía de unas flores talladas en amatista que no usaba y quería hacer con ellas unos pendientes.
A client got in touch with Marta as she had a couple of flowers carved in amethyst that she did not use and wanted to use them as earrings.
Marta diseñó una estructura de pendientes de colgar en oro amarillo en la que montó las flores de amatista. Como la clienta quería unos pendientes ponibles, los diseñó bastante pegados al lóbulo de la oreja, para que no colgasen demasiado y los pudiese usar con frecuencia. Y como también quería unos pendientes sencillos, se le ocurrió inspirarse en la naturaleza e interpretar la estructura de una flor.
Marta designed a pair of hanging earrings in a yellow gold structure where she mounted the amethyst flowers. The client wanted the earrings to be wearable, so she designed the earrings not to hang far from the earlobe so she could use the frequently. And as the client also wanted them to be simple, Marta found the inspiration in nature and reinterpret the structure of a flower.
A través de los pétalos de amatista, sale un hijo de oro que se convierte en tres engastes que representan los estambres de la flor y al final de cada filamento otra piedra, en este caso, tres tsavoritas engastadas en garras, que serían las anteras, donde se almacena el polen.
A gold thread goes through the amethyst petals and turns into the three mountings that represent the stamen of the flower, and at the end of each filament, another gemstone, in this case three tsavorites set in prongs, which would act as the anthers, where the pollen is stored.
El verde de las tsavoritas y el morado de la amatista son dos colores que combinan de maravilla. El contraste entre estos dos colores aportan alegría y un toque exótico. Es un cóctel estimulante rebosante de elegancia.
The green color from the tsavorites goes perfectly with the purple of the amethyst. The contrast between both colors provides joy and an exotic touch. It is a stimulating cocktail overflowing elegance.
¿Y que pasa con los granates? No nos hemos olvidado de ellos… Los granates se pueden dar en diversos colores, no solo rojos, sino también naranjas, amarillos e incluso verdes, como en el caso de los que se usan en esta pieza, las tsavoritas son granates verdes.
And what about the garnets? No, we have not forgotten them… Garnets can be found in several colors, not just red, but also orange, yellow and even green; just as the garnets in this earrings; the tsavorites are green garnets.
